Jesus Predicts His Death and Resurrection

Matthew 16:21, From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day.

Matthew 17:22-23, And while they were gathering together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men; Matthew 17:23 and they will kill Him, and He will be raised on the third day.” And they were deeply grieved.

Matthew 20:17-19, As Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them, Matthew 20:18 “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, Matthew 20:19 and will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.”

Matthew 27:63 and said, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I am to rise again.’

Mark 8:31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

Mark 9:31 For He was teaching His disciples and telling them, “The Son of Man is to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and when He has been killed, He will rise three days later.”

Mark 10:32-34, They were on the road going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking on ahead of them; and they were amazed, and those who followed were fearful. And again He took the twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to Him, Mark 10:33 saying, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and will hand Him over to the Gentiles. Mark 10:34 “They will mock Him and spit on Him, and scourge Him and kill Him, and three days later He will rise again.”

Luke 9:22, saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day.”

Luke 18:31-34, Then He took the twelve aside and said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things which are written through the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. Luke 18:32 “For He will be handed over to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and mistreated and spit upon, Luke 18:33 and after they have scourged Him, they will kill Him; and the third day He will rise again.” Luke 18:34 But the disciples understood none of these things, and the meaning of this statement was hidden from them, and they did not comprehend the things that were said.

Luke 24:6-7, “He is not here, but He has risen. Remember how He spoke to you while He was still in Galilee, Luke 24:7 saying that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.”

Luke 24:46 and He said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ would suffer and rise again from the dead the third day,

John 2:19-22, Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” John 2:20 The Jews then said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” John 2:21 But He was speaking of the temple of His body. John 2:22 So when He was raised from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken.
